This bucolic pond is on the north side of highway 3, on the way down to Broken Bow, Oklahoma. If you've seen it, you'll recognize it. It took me so off guard because the water was so still and the tree's reflections so perfect--in real life. In painting life, I mussed up the water to cover up my lack of knowledge about reflections...despite studying the science of painting reflections for like 10 hours. So, this painting is a little peek into my insecurities as an artist, as well as a memory of a peaceful pond.
