Original acrylic painting, 12 x 16 x 1.5
This is the second painting I completed on my Labor Day Loop 2017 trip. I was heading north out of Santa Fe, headed to Crested Butte, when I stopped to snap a picture of this awesome rock formation.
This painting will always stay in my private collection, as I painted it in the company of another artist, Daniel Wornicov, on a little pullout near Wolf Camp. I had intended to go to Crazy Horse that day, but as I drove along the winding road, I felt like stopping at this scenic overlook.
Then, I felt like getting my paints out.
Then, I painted all day. Three paintings! This one, Wyoming Windmill, and Black Hills Sunburst.
